Eric Dezenhall is a Washington, D.C.-based writer and damage
control consultant. He is President of Dezenhall
Resources, a crisis management firm with offices in
Washington, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and London. He has
developed a model for how media-hyped attacks on businesses
and public figures are "packaged" to fit an entertainment
format.
Eric
frequently lectures in academic and business circles,
and regularly appears as a damage control expert in the
international media, including network television and
radio, NPR, CNN, Fox, CNBC, C-Span, MSNBC, "Hardball
with Chris Matthews," "The O'Reilly Factor,"
"Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher," USA
Today, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and The Washington
Post. He is also noted in the national media for his expertise
on Internet-generated attacks or "flaming."

In
addition to the novels, Money Wanders (St. Martin's, 2002)
and Jackie Disaster (Minotaur, 2003), Eric is the author
of Nail 'Em! Confronting High-Profile Attacks on Celebrities
and Businesses (Prometheus Books, 1999 hc; 2003 pb), a
widely cited new text in business media and academic circles.
His next novel, Shakedown Beach, will be published in
2004 by St. Martin's Minotaur.
He is a
graduate of Dartmouth College, where he studied political
science and the news media. As an investigative writer,
Eric won acclaim when he uncovered the diaries of the
late mobster, Meyer Lansky, which were featured in articles
he wrote for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate, the Baltimore
Sun, The New Republic, and Ethical Corporation. A documentary
he co-produced on organized crime aired on the Discovery
Channel in Fall 2002.
Eric
Dezenhall was born in Camden, New Jersey, and raised in
Southern New Jersey near Atlantic City. He serves on the
Board of Directors for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
He currently lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife
and two children.
